Ok, so the holidays are just around the corner.  There’s your general crowd of merriment and then those bah humbugs. I think this year I’m more bah humbug than merry; however, I can be easily swayed.

Joey is having tummy troubles.  Poor guy!  I feel so badly for him.  I am thankful that Jonathon took night patrol, while I have day patrol, but we are looking forward to having a healthy pooch again!

I gave my neighbor some cookies, fruits and veggies for her to share with her out-of-town family that’s coming in for the holidays. Unexpectedly, in return she gave me some flowers. How nice! They are lovely.

Last night, I also discovered that Tye has been peeing under the Christmas tree.  We already have a love/hate relationship. Currently, we’re at the hate of our relationship. I called the vet this morning to see if there’s a medical reason he would do this.  I wasn’t her only call this morning about this!  Turns out, he just doesn’t like the tree in his space.  His space being the ENTIRE house. Ugh!  She suggested I put tin foil around the bottom of the tree, as cats don’t like tin foil. I bet mine does!  So here it is: Cat vs. Tree.  I’m rooting for the tree on this one!

My new car is nice, don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t love it in the same fashion as I did my old one.  Currently, it’s filled with dog hair, since the boys were in it.  And I’ve been putting on the miles since the company I work for moved 11 miles away. But today, a girl in my office and I crossed paths. I know who she is a vice versa, but we haven’t had the opportunity to get to know one another.  She told me that she had been admiring my car, but she didn’t know who it belonged to.  She thought it was super cute and was thinking about getting one. While the compliment didn’t make me love my car and more, it was a nice perk to the day.

I get the generally feeling that society feels that cats are more intelligent to dogs.  My dogs would surely disagree.  Cat arrived to our house as a kitten. My gut tells me that he truely believes he is a dog…but maybe that’s because we let the dogs do the kitten rearing. Yesterday as I was getting ready for bed, Cat actually leaped from the floor and smacked Dog upside the head with paw. From what I could tell, this action was unprovoked, as Dog was walking from bathroom to kitchen to get a drink before hitting the sack. Dog had one of those looks on his face like “what the h*^%?!”. Of course Dog retaliated, with an unfair size advantage, by putting Cat’s entire head in Dog’s mouth to remind Cat who is really the boss.

Now, if you knew you were going to get your head stuck in a giant dog’s mouth, would it really be smart to smack the dog upside the head? Society might want to reconsider such cat intelligence compared to dog intelligence.  From what I’ve witnessed, the dogs seem to have a leg up in the intelligence department.
